In 2007, Alexander Buschle founded SDN Präzisionstechnik GmbH by taking over the operational business of SDN Schwer Dreh- und Normteile GmbH, which dates back to 1938. Since then, the entire production and business activity has been characterised by innovations in all areas. Milestones were the introduction of a data management system in 2009, the new building in 2010, the fully automated storage system in 2011, the full-scale digitalisation of the value chain in 2013 in the areas of quality assurance, production, assembly and warehousing, award of the Baden-Württemberg state prize for young companies in 2014 and the extensions to the production hall in 2015 and 2019 with a tripling of the production area.

1938

Hans Schwer founds the company “Schwer & Weber” with his partner Erwin Weber.

1945

Hans Schwer founds the “Hans Schwer GmbH”.

1995

Hans Schwer GmbH develops into the company SDN Schwer Dreh- und Normteile under the management of Heinz Schwer.

1999

The first quality management certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:1996 is successfully carried out.

2006

Heinz Schwer finds the ideal and suitable successor in Alexander Buschle from Denkingen.

2007

Alexander Buschle founds his own company, SDN Präzisionstechnik GmbH, and takes over the business activities of SDN Schwer GmbH.

2008

SDN products are divided into the two categories of turned parts and standard parts.

2009

Starting signal for the new building in Denkingen and simultaneous introduction of a state-of-the-art document management system.

2010

Move to the new administration and production building in Denkingen.

2011

A fully automated storage system is introduced. Production is further expanded with several modern turning/milling centres.

2012

Increase in in-house production through the acquisition of modern sliding and sliding headstock automatic lathes.

2013

Modernisation of quality assurance through the acquisition of a shaft measuring machine and other measuring devices. Further expansion of in-house production through the acquisition of additional long and short turning machines.

2014

An extension is added to the existing production hall to double the production area.

SDN wins the state prize for young companies.

2015

January 2015 Extension completed – production area doubled.

The new website is online.

2016

On 3 February 2016, the Baden-Württemberg Association of Local Authorities for Youth and Social Affairs awarded SDN the distinction of being an exemplary disability-friendly employer.
